Paula Richards

Creative Writing

From the time she was a child, Paula had always dreamt of becoming an author. It took some time, but now her dream has become a reality. She is a multi-talented woman who has dedicated her gifts for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God. Paula has a special heart for women, especially single women, and she longs to see them operate in the authority and freedom that God has given them.
‘No More Tears’ is Paula’s fourth published book, which was launched in November 2016. Her other published books are: ‘Tears of Sacrifice’, ‘Portrait of Destiny’, and ‘Unmasking the Heart of a Single Woman.’ She has also produced, written and directed two Christmas musicals for a primary school. She also co-authored a new converts children’s booklet with Reverend Clinton Chisholm from Jamaica, which was released in December 2016.
Along with her gift for writing, Paula is a soloist, worship leader, teacher and songwriter. She has been a guest speaker at several singles ministries and Paula wants to see singles (both male and female) come to a place where they enjoy and embrace their singleness. She has a passion and desire to see Christian writers develop their talent and produce excellently written books. Consequently, this has led to her conducting special writing classes called ‘Born to Write.’ Paula is passionate about teaching and this is another gift she knew she had from a child, but God is only now creating the opportunities for this gift to be manifested. This year Paula plans to conduct one-day workshops on writing.
In 2016, God opened the door for Paula to work as a freelance writer and proofreader for the Nation Newspaper - a task she thoroughly enjoys.
Paula owns a small editing business called ‘Eagle’s Eye Editing Services’ and so far she has edited nine books along with other manuscripts. Editing and proofing is also something Paula is extremely passionate about; she believes if you are going to publish a book then you must make sure it is as error-free as possible. She lives by this maxim: Why settle for mediocrity when you can achieve excellence.

Rafael Hinds

Musicanship

Rafael made his musical debut at the age of 3 on the drums. This moment was the genesis of what would become his greatest passion. And this passion and musical ability would grow exponentially. He’d quickly learn however that life’s journey and path for everyone is different; as years would go by with little opportunities to play the instrument he loved. This was a defining season for him. “Like David, there are some things we only learn and experience “in the field” away from the very place we were called to be” - Rafael. Being a son of a Pastor, many a time he would make his way to the drums after church but his older brother would always dominate as there was only one drumset. This pushed him to find another voice; a way to express and channel his musical gifting which ultimately lead him to the keyboard. From the age of 13 he’s been the sole keyboardist at his church (M.O.P) and has since emerged as a musical director. Today most persons know him as a keyboardist but Rafael has been able to maintain his love for drums and now excels on both instruments. He currently holds a Bachelors in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies. And a proud graduate of the BCC Associate Degree music program, this introduced him to a world of knowledge and application which would fuel his desire for composition, arranging and music technology. Since then, Rafael has performed at numerous events; having the distinct privilege and opportunity to play for and work with many artistes locally and internationally such as Mya Daniel, Paula Hinds, Neil Crichlow & LIFE, Raphael Saul, Rhea Drakes, John Yarde, and renown Artistes Jaye Thomas, LaRue Howard and Phil Thompson of the U.S.A to name a few. More recently he for the first time was co-executive producer and musical director for the debut album One Shepherd Boy in association with Russell Black Music. Rafael defines success as not something to be pursed but rather something we attract by the person we become - Jim Rohn. His life is a true testament and example of divine grace and God-given ability. Yet he believes and encourages that talent is only but a starting point; to be cultivated and refined, but never to be placed as greater than the one who carries it. Rafael also comes from a very musical and artistic family who continue to be a source of support and inspiration in his life’s journey.
